Identify the sample before judging the layers
Label lot, formulation, fat/solids, homogenization and heating sequence. Record container geometry, fill amount, storage temperature and whether the sample was mixed before inspection. A photograph without those conditions cannot support an equipment comparison.
Separate the observations
Record cream-layer height, serum appearance, sediment and body as different fields. Measure any chosen layer against the same total sample height, and retain dated photos from the same angle. Do not relabel all visible separation as a homogenizer fault.
Agree the acceptance interval
Choose observation times and product acceptance with the responsible development team. Use matched samples to investigate composition, processing and storage changes. A short bench observation is not a shelf-life validation or a guaranteed stability result.
