Coconut Milk Extraction vs Filtration | Press & Strainer

Recovering milk from kernel and removing coarse solids from milk are two separate process duties.

What the press receives

An extraction press receives prepared kernel particles and separates milk from residual meal. Cutting, feed consistency and added water influence the extraction assessment. Record recovered coconut fat rather than comparing collected litres alone.

What a strainer receives

Coarse-fibre separation receives extracted milk. Select the screen or filtration duty against particle limits, viscosity, flow and acceptable product loss. It cannot replace kernel extraction and does not by itself prevent emulsion separation.

Specify the connection between them

Review press discharge, milk collection, transfer head and screen access together. Compare milk and retained solids during a trial, and define the sampling point used for downstream acceptance.
