Drained kernel accepted for size reduction, plus a separate reject stream.

Structure and line connections

Inspection access, wash contact, drain-off and the transfer into the cutter must be reviewed together. Reused water and final-contact water are separate project decisions.

Cleaning and inspection interface

Specify access below belts or baskets, drainability, nozzle inspection and removal of trapped kernel fragments. Cleaning-agent selection and sanitation verification belong to the plant programme.

Application limits

Washing does not establish a microbial kill step. Water carried with kernel also affects a subsequent extraction mass balance.

Trial and acceptance evidence

Inspect retained fragments, drainage and downstream feed consistency during a representative run; document how rejected pieces leave the food stream.
